As 2025 comes to a close, we at OnStage look back on a year that was meaningful in many ways. Together with educational institutions, students, and partners in the professional field, we once again made significant progress in organising, supporting, and improving student placements, graduation, and thesis processes.
More institutions adopted OnStage as their central platform for student placements, graduation projects, and other forms of work-based learning. At the same time, we continued to deepen the platform with new functionalities that better reflect the day-to-day reality of education professionals.
Below, we reflect on what we achieved together in 2025 and share a preview of what lies ahead in 2026.
Our year in numbers
Usage and Reach
In 2025, OnStage continued to grow as a trusted solution within education. Today, 47 educational institutions in the Netherlands and Belgium use OnStage. Within these institutions, 3.434 study programmes use the platform daily to support their student placement and graduation processes.

Engagement from the professional field also continued to grow steadily. In total, 395.184 organisations were registered in OnStage in 2025. This figure illustrates how deeply embedded OnStage has become in the collaboration between education and practice.
OnStage was used intensively to manage opportunities. A total of 619.650 placement and graduation vacancies were available on the platform, of which 194.000 were newly added in 2025. As a result, OnStage increasingly serves as the central place where educational institutions and the professional field regularly meet.

Together, these figures show that OnStage is not only growing in scale, but more importantly, in relevance. More institutions rely on a single platform to create clarity, transparency, and continuity.
Students and matching
For students as well, 2025 was an intensive and vital year within OnStage. In total, 696.054 matches were made between students and internship, work-based learning, or graduation placements.
Through OnStage, 368.685 unique students successfully found placements in professional fields.

Behind every number is a student who gained clarity about their learning pathway, an educational programme that maintained control over the process, and an organisation that welcomed and guided a student.
Contracts and further digitalisation
The digitalisation of internship and graduation processes continued at full speed in 2025. A total of 16.881 contracts were digitally signed via OnStage.

Notably, the average number of signing attempts was very low: just 1.27 attempts per contract. This demonstrates that digital signing is not only more efficient but also more transparent and more user-friendly for all parties involved.
By further digitising contract processes, institutions save time, reduce administrative errors, and create greater peace of mind and oversight in often complex trajectories.
File management, assessment, and feedback
OnStage was also used extensively for submitting work, assessments, and feedback. In 2025, a total of 3.553.320 files were uploaded to the platform. In addition, 38.709 documents were checked for plagiarism, contributing to transparency and quality assurance.

Within assessment processes, 160.415 feedback annotations were added. We recorded a total of 53.591 assessments, of which 5.883 were automatically integrated with a student information system (SIS).
We expect this number to increase significantly in 2026 as more institutions adopt these integrations and further automation.
New Features in 2025
In 2025, our focus was not only on scale, but above all on quality, usability, and flexibility.
New visual identity
A significant milestone was the introduction of the refreshed OnStage branding. The new logo and Paragin visual identity were fully implemented across the platform, aligning OnStage more closely with the broader Paragin brand.

Platform updates
We introduced greater flexibility in roles and permissions for back-office staff. Educational processes vary significantly between institutions and programmes. This flexibility allows support teams to configure OnStage in line with their own workflows.
Significant improvements were also made to assessment functionality. Feedback and annotation features for assessors were updated, enabling more targeted, precise, and consistent feedback for students.
Together with three educational institutions, we also delivered extensions to results integrations, allowing assessment results to be better embedded in existing systems.
In addition, we continuously improved the user experience from minor optimisations to more substantial enhancements to management interfaces for support roles.
Finally, in collaboration with teacher training institutes, universities of applied sciences, and the Dutch Ministry of Education (OCW), we developed a dedicated report for Educational Regions. This report supports regional collaboration and policy-making around work-based learning.
Plans for 2026
In 2026, we will continue to build OnStage as the integrated solution for all internships, graduation trajectories, and other forms of work-based learning.
A key focus will be on further expanding results integrations, enabling even broader and deeper integration within existing educational ecosystems.
We will also continue to enhance submission and assessment functionalities, including the introduction of an LTI integration for portfolio assessment. This will allow OnStage to connect more seamlessly with blended learning environments and existing learning platforms.
In the area of contracts, development will continue as well. In 2026, we will support multiple digital signing providers, giving institutions greater freedom of choice.
We will also further strengthen matching and process integrations to ensure that complex trajectories run even more smoothly.
And, of course, beyond these concrete plans, we will continue to improve OnStage based on user feedback.
Thank you!
None of these steps would have been possible without the trust and commitment of educational institutions, teachers, students, and partners in the professional field.
Thank you for working with us in 2025. We look forward to continuing to build transparent, fair, and well-organised work-based learning together in 2026.
